Home Charging

A dedicated charger for your own driveway or garage, sized to your electrical connection.

Overnight Daily commute top-up

Wake up to a full charge — every morning.

Charging at home is, for most EV owners, the simplest and cheapest way to keep a vehicle topped up — plug in overnight and start each day with a full charge, without a detour to a public station. Lightning Energy’s home charging range is built around this everyday use case: a wall-mounted AC charger sized to your existing electrical connection, installed by a partner who checks your wiring and available load before anything is fitted.

Most homes are well served by a 7.4 kW single-phase charger, which comfortably replenishes a typical daily commute overnight. Homes with a three-phase supply and more than one EV can consider stepping up to an 11 kW unit for faster turnaround between vehicles.

Because every home’s wiring, meter capacity and parking layout are different, we recommend a short site survey before ordering so the installation team can confirm cable routing, mounting position and any electrical upgrades that might be needed ahead of time. This avoids surprises on installation day and means the quote you receive reflects your actual site rather than a generic estimate.

If you’re not sure which charger fits your situation, our charging guide walks through the basics of power, connectors and installation requirements before you buy.

Where this solution fits best

Every site is different — these are the patterns we see most often for this vertical.

Independent houses

Dedicated parking with a clear wall mount and cable run.

Villa communities

Individual chargers with consistent install standards across homes.

Multi-EV households

Higher power or dual-port options when two vehicles share a bay.

Common questions

Most homes run well on a 7.4 kW single-phase charger. Three-phase helps when you want faster turnaround or multiple EVs.
