Lightning Energy was started with a simple observation: buying an electric vehicle is the easy part — getting it charged reliably, at home or wherever it’s parked most of the day, is where a lot of new EV owners run into friction. Compatibility questions, unclear installation requirements, and hardware that wasn’t really designed for local electrical conditions all add up to a worse experience than it needs to be.
We set out to build a charging hardware company that treats the installation and the ongoing experience as seriously as the charger itself — working through site surveys properly, being upfront about what a given unit can and can’t do, and building software that makes a charger easier to live with rather than a box that quietly sits on a wall.
That focus has shaped our product range: starting with the chargers that most people actually need first (home AC charging and simple universal sockets), and building outward into workplace, commercial and DC fast charging as we’ve learned more about how different sites use power.
We’re still early in that journey. As our installed base and product range grow, we’ll keep this page updated with where things stand — without dressing up where we are today as further along than it actually is.
